Land: the plot to divide

Where the plot comes from, and what it records.

Where the plot comes from

  • I draw it on the satellite map: tap each corner. Draw a pond, a well or a house inside the plot to leave it out.
  • I have the sides measured with a tape: the sides in order, then the diagonals from corner 1, the way a surveyor writes them down.
  • I am on the spot: I walk around it or stop at each corner: Walk around with GPS, or Add my position at each corner, which averages the fixes.
  • A plot already measured, from the Plots tab.

What the step shows

The parcel number and its place (Khasra / survey no. and Village in South Asia, Plot number and Location elsewhere), the gross area, the area left out and the area to divide. Change the plot picks another one. Zones of different value are set here too: see Value of the land.

Divide the land before anyone picks up a tape

Measure the plot, set the shares, and let the app draw the lines and print the deed.
