Divide land by value

When the road side is worth more than the back, equal areas are not equal shares.

The papers: an heir's extract and the owelty payments

Zones of different value

At the Land step, under Value of the land, Draw a zone or Split by a line, then give each zone its price per unit of area, or its total value. The Rest of the plot gets its own price.

Two ways to be fair

  • Share by value: lots of equal worth (smaller where the land is dearer): each lot is worth its share of the total value.
  • Share by area, then equalise in cash (owelty): each heir gets their share of the area, and the app works out the Owelty payments: who pays how much to whom, with as few payments as possible.

The payments and the value of each lot appear on the partition deed. See Owelty payment.

Divide the land before anyone picks up a tape

Measure the plot, set the shares, and let the app draw the lines and print the deed.
